C02 Shortage Sends Food and Drink Makers Scrambling

U.S. food and beverage companies are racing to keep operations running during a nationwide shortage of carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is widely used throughout food and beverage industries, including to stun animals before they are slaughtered and to chill and process meat.
