Disaster struck Britain’s KFC chains in February 2018 as two-thirds of its restaurants closed due to a shortage of KFC’s main ingredient, chicken. While the obvious failure is due to pure logistics, the event really was a combination of causes including one warehouse location, a new logistics partner, new network and lack of contingency measures.
